Bored with the Bible

How often do you get excited to open your Bible and read God’s Word? Too often we read the Bible out of duty instead of genuine desire. I remember a speaker in college talking about how some people don’t even have the Bible in their own language yet many Christians in the US have multiple Bibles in their home.

This morning I saw this post from Tim Stevens of Granger Community Church and it brought me to tears. It shows the New Testament arriving for the first time in the language of the Kimyal people of Papua New Guinea. My hope is that this video and its story will drive us to see our Bibles in a new light.

  1. Joel – I so agree with your comments and the video says it all! It’s good to continually ask the Holy Spirit to renew our hunger for the Word.
